the bee movie right in our back yard

i was so excited to buy the bee movie and watch it with my kids on friday. that idea came to a screetching halt after my son came in and said..."mom! have you seen all the bugs outside?" "what?" i asked. then i looked out side and right above our splash pad and on most of our patio were at least 100 hundred bees swarming and mad! i didn't know who to call... so i hopped on line and called the first company i could get, maybe we got the argie pole...i don't know, but $495 dollars was not how i wanted to spend our tax return. the bee 'specialist' says all this fancy intelligent things and i stop him a few minutes later and say, "buddy, i'm still tryin to get over the price and pick my jaw up off the floor! sheesh!" he says, we do offer the $50 dollar discount that is online. whatever! they needed to beeee removed and i felt trapped in my own home...so i said have him come out. they were out right away, and took care of it and within 24 hrs...they are gone! dead! kaput! "waxed out" hahaha. but i still feel like we got the pole...any comments from anyone on this would be sooo helpful!

THINGS THAT WILL ONE DAY MAKE ME LAUGH....BUT NOT TODAY!

Picture a beautiful chocolate cream pie, with homemade pie crust (thanks sara). picture me hard at work in the kitchen all day long. picture me putting the finishing touches on to the pie. cool whip and dollips of chocolate chips adorn the top. i was so excited to finally do something for someone else that was nice and i was so excited to have my family deliver it for family home evening that night! as i deliberated on which frig to place my work of art...i decided on the frig out in the garage....why? for safety of course. i wanted sister quigley to GET the pie! as i walked towards the garage, someone caught my eye...my beautiful t-man was smiling at me and so i lovingly looked sideways at him and did NOT SEE the cabinet door that had been left open by my darling son! well I HAD TO STOP on a dime to avoid hitting that cabinet...whew....ahhhhhhhhhh, yep the pie did not stop as quickly as i did; in fact it went flying as far as i have ever seen a pie fly and then landed upside down!!!!!!!!!CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP! i left it there, i couldn't bear to look at it and clean it up! so i CRIED OVER MAKING OUR DINNER. than my wonderful husband came galloping thru the back door only to see that pie on the floor and say, "did you know there was a pie on the flooor?" this is where i ask, you, the reader: have you ever had an ugly cry? you know the one, where you are trying to hold back the tears and explain your situation only to have sound come out of you that closely resembles camels in pain. my husband, says, "ok, its ok" and proceeds to clean it up..........so i thought.....about 15 minutes passes and i am now feeding my baby on the couch wondering what we are going to take for family night to this wonderful sister in my ward, when tim says: "well...i saved the pie; i skimmed the top layer and it worked out ok!" i blurt out: "we are NOT TAKING that pie that fell on the floor to sis. quig..........." and before i could finish he says: " not her.. US; we can have it for family nite." well it wasn't what i had invisioned but i knew that one day in a few short weeks, i would laugh about it, but it wasn't that day!

what's in a name?

the title of our blogspot comes from our sunday family councils.
we have a section where we read those highlites that have occurred for each child for that week!
Our Kids love it...it helps me pay attention to what they have done and if for some reason (chaos) i don't remember something they have done, they are quick to point that out as well. when that person's highlites are finished being read. we say their name and quietly, and with each time it gets louder and louder and faster and faster until we are in this "ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh: U ROCK!!!!!!!!!!" THEY love this and i am afraid it is a tradition we just cannot eliminate!!!
so now you know!
